Bungie has just released their Cover and the current back of the upcoming Ghosts of Onyx book!  And it also includes a summary on the back that just squeams with juicy theory material!

That cover is awesomeness!  And the summary on the back is too good...I gota get this book now!  Can't...wait...until...November!  I'm tense right now, and I'll be that way until I calm down at around 11:00 p.m. Central Time.  I wonder what the "Ghosts" part of "Ghosts of Onyx" means.  It can't mean real ghosts, unless it means the forerunner machines as the "ghost" because of it's old age... *ponders*

It says destruction of Alpha Halo caused something to happen in Onyx.
Another Forerunner structure? Will it interact with the Ark?
The story gets deeper and more twisted than I anticipated.
I hope the movie would also take more of the novel parts.
Seriously, most movies I have watched didn't have that kind of complicated storylines unlike manga. Now, I see some movies that would do some justice.

My two three biggest questions are:
1) Why does each spartan have different armor?
2) Is that armor with the really wierd helmet a new MJOLNIR model? MK VII? VIII? Or is it some new helljumper armor? Or is it in fact an even older version of the MJOLNIR series that we haven't seen yet?
3) Is it just me, or do the MK V spartan and the new guy (or at least just the new guy) seem to be holding some new weapon? The MK VI is holding an assault rifle, and the MK V seems to be holding something that kind of looks like a battle rifle. But the thing that newbie (I christen him as newbie until we have a real name) is holding looks like something new. Kinda like an Assault Rifle but not really.

It looks a lot like a Marine Combat Suit.  I don't think its MJOLNIR because all the MJOLNIR that the S-IIs have used have had the same helmet style.

It kinda looks like a Halo 1 MC with a BR, a Halo 2 MC with an assault rifle (switched guns wtf?) and the old version of MC with what I am guessing is a gun that got edited. But I guess they are different Spartans. Thats just how it looks.

Kudos to Bader for posting this!  I look forward to reading the novel - more on Forerunner installations and technology can't be a bad thing.  Especially as there are still a lot of mysteries about the Forerunner and the origin of the Flood.

It seriously looks similar to the armor of the MC in the E3 2000 video of Halo 1. Then there is the two armors we know from each game.

im wondering on the hundreds of willing soldiers part? so could they be reguarl marines, helljumpers, maybe S-I, S-II, S-III, or a new branch of Naval special warfare, ?!?!?!?! i just dont know and cant wait

maybe they know they dont have the time to fully do another spartan project so they are asking for a bunch of current soldiers to try to do the augmentations the best they can quickly and train them to be spartans (and wear new crazy armor suits with huge visors)
