my werid crackpot theory is that the cover of the book shows the evolution of the spartans? cmon it makes sense with werid helmet looking one could be MIV, the H1 MV, and H2 MVI!
your thoughts?

It's possible... although I'm curious as to why SPARTAN-IIs would be equipped with older armor if obviously they are working together on a mission sanctioned and supported by UNSC forces.  You'd think that the UNSC would at least be able to upgrade other surviving S-IIs besides John... unless we're seeing some of those infamous 'missing' Spartans.  *hopes*

By the way, I edited the title of this topic so that it would be more informative.

Every single cover art for the books has represented something from the books.  In the first one, it was them fighting in Cote d'Azur, in the second it was John fighting Flood, and in the last one it was him grouping with the marines to take over the covenant ship.

So basically, the guy with the goofy helmet is Chief Security Officer from the ship Marathon come to give the SPARTANs a hand.

I always thought the first cover depicted them fighting in the rebel asteroid. Because in Watts' hideout, there were skyscrapers and stuff. Don't have the book handy, but I think there was no sky either. I could be wrong though.  Tongue

It could be hb 1. Sounds logical.  Grin

There were banshees flying overhead and they were wearing MJOLNIR body suits in the cover.  I highly doubt that that was the asteroid that was raided before they received the MJOLNIR suits and before they had had any large scale contact with the Covenant.

Interesting ideas but I thought they were just a different type of armor for normal UNSC forces.

They are.  Just ignore these pwns.

Nylund already said they are special suits for normal UNSC personnel.
